‘Beneath The Harvest Moon’ (Halloween 2016)

Autumn is my favourite time of the year, and as usual I always find myself writing some kind of Halloween themed poetry in the weeks leading up to the 31st of October. Last year a wrote a poem about a corpse bride, but this year I decided to keep things a little more witchy.

Enjoy, and have a Happy Halloween!

‘Beneath The Harvest Moon’

A garden of shadows;
Evading the light.
A secret whispered
In the dead of night.

Ancient dances danced
Beneath the harvest moon,
With spells, incantations,
And the casting of the runes.

To Hecate and Diana
There is given high praise,
With drinking and feasting
They celebrate the Old ways.

The witches have come
And they’re here to stay.
Careful, dear child,
You’re not stolen away.
